A collection of live interviews from representatives of organizations featured at the South Sound Sustainability Expo, held on the UW Tacoma Campus.
Audio from the Swan Creek Park Celebration, held on April 30, 2022. One piece features stories from residents past and present of East Tacoma’s Salishan neighborhood; the other features organizations involved in Swan Creek Park’s restoration from abandoned, overgrown apartment complex footprint to a community space for mountain biking, picnicking, ecology cleanup, playing with pups in the dog park, and exploring Tacoma’s only salmon-bearing stream.
Crews of KTQA-LP, RadioTacoma, and VT Radio Universal collaborated in the most socially-distanced way possible to bring local perspective and coverage of the general election on the afternoon and evening of November 3rd, 2020. Listen to community members from a variety of walks of life (and languages!) reflect and react to this historic moment.
Becky Friedman of KTQA and Louisa Beal of KTAH embark on a collaborative remote simulcast to bring coverage and commentary of the August 4, 2020 primary election to listeners in Tacoma, Pierce County, and Washington State. Throughout the night, the crew works hard to bring both veteran and new political voices to the airwaves.
On the evening of election day, KTQA along with sibling station Radio Tacoma covered the 2018 midterm election for local listeners. We were live at the election party for Tacoma Creates held at the Swiss. This was an experiment for both stations as it was one of our first live events, our first remote event, and the first time KTQA had participated in the local community.
